We're here to discuss 12VDC alternative power systems for off-grid homes, whether off-grid by choice or necessity. We'll talk about any type of generation -- wind, solar, hydro or whatever. And, we'll also discuss storage and distribution systems for 12 VDC. And, not to eliminate anyone, we'll gladly talk about 24 and 48 volt DC systems too. Our planet is rapidly running out of fossil fuels, and the pollution from those is destroying our environment. It's time to utilize renewable energy and that's why our group is here.

We are NOT here to discuss "over-unity", "free energy" or any other non-existent, non-functional, and 'simply impossible by any known law of physics' devices. If you want to discuss all that pie-in-the-sky crap, that's fine, just don't do it here.

This group exists to further the understanding and ability of its members to use low voltage direct current electricty to live off-grid or to supplement grid power. That said, there's no problem in discussing inverters and generators in an off-grid or back-up capacity because we all know that the sun doesn't shine and/or the wind blow all the time. And, sometimes, folks just can't live by 12 VDC alone.

Please do your fellow group members the honor of learning enough about the subjects discussed here to understand what you're asking and what we're answering. We welcome newbies, but let us know you're helping.
